This series contains 20 logbooks which were used to record details of metrological conditions and daily events at the lighthouse. Ruled in columns they give details as follows: date, time, barometer reading, temperature, wind weather, water, name of keeper on duty and remarks. The remarks mostly relate to the state of the light and duties carried out by the keepers. Not all the volumes are extant. Notably the following periods are missing: 09 Dec 1901 to 13 Oct 1908 28 Dec 1916 to 30 Sep 1923 01 Feb 1925 to 28 Feb 1930 13 Nov 1932 to 07 Jun 1935 22 Sep 1938 only 26 Jan 1942 to 28 Feb 1942 14 Jun 1945 only 30 Nov 1951 only The logbooks are fragile and display the following damage: Fading ink, spine damage and torn pages.
