This series contains folders of official papers and correspondence created by Mr Casey as Treasurer.  The series contains three groups: 
 
(1) Coinage - correspondence, samples, drawings and photographs of proposed new coins
 
(2) Agenda and memoranda for Economic Cabinet (includes some departmental correspondence) on economic matters and commodities (1939-40)
  
(3) Correspondence and documentation relating to Imperial Conference 1937, underwriting charges and oil.
 
A single number system of arrangement and control was imposed on the folders by Australian Archives in February 1992.  In August 1994, two estrays, previously controlled under CP4/3 in error, were incorporated into this series as items 22 and 23.  Also, the material outlined in (3) above, initially missing, was located as an incorrectly labelled bundle of CP4/6, and restored to this series as items 24 to 30 inclusive.
