Series note
Description of series:
This series consists of one file of typescript copies of cables sent from the Prime Minister's Department, on behalf of the Acting Prime Minister (Dr Earle Page), in the period September 1923 to February 1924. The cables were mainly sent to the Prime Minister (Rt Hon Stanley Melbourne Bruce), who was on an official visit to London at the time. A list of the cables can be found at the front of the file. The cables are ordered chronologically and, up to 30 October 1923, carry a running number (1-54). They relate to foreign affairs, industry, migration and various other matters of government business.

The records were transferred to archival custody by the Prime Minister's Department in December 1955 (ref. RWC2/1/62). A single number system of control was imposed, and the series description revised, as part of the Prime Minister's Papers' Project (November 2002).
