Processed copies and galley proofs of the Draft Report, together with notes, correspondence, memoranda, and other working papers relating to the editing, compiling and printing of the report. (For details, see attached list).
History Prior/Subsequent to Transfer:
Prior to transfer: The Commissioners - G. W. Paton (Chairman), R. G. Osborne, C. B. Bednall R. C. Wilson, N. T. Wilson and M. C. Foxton (K. Collings Secretary) - were appointed on the 11th February, 1953, and held their first meeting in Melbourne on the 23rd of the same month. The first of the 34 public sittings, which were held in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart for the purpose of taking evidence began in Melbourne on the 11th March, 1953. The report was authorised to be printed on the 13th November and was signed on the 20 February, 1954. The records of the
Commission were then delivered into the custody of Prime Minister's Department where they remained until transferred to Archives Division on the 1st November, 1955.
