Function and purpose

These are general correspondence files dealing with such matters as policy and procedures and all matter relating to the agencies responsibilities dealt with by Head Office. The letter prefixes used are G [General] and R [Restricted]. These files cover the full date range of CA278. At the closure of the agency, the records were transferred to Lucas Heights, where some were top-numbered into the series CRS C1506, Correspondence files, and annual single number with "LH" prefix. Others are known to have been culled by Senior Officers of the agency. It is believed that all extant files are in custody.
