This series consists of two Arch lever folders containing correspondence of the Board of Directors of Commonwealth Hostels Limited. The first folder covers financial years 1951/1952 to 1965/1966; the second covers years 1966/1967 to 1972/1973. National Archives staff have imposed identification numbers [1] and [2] on the folders.

The contents of the folders are arranged in chronological order, the first item dated 2 December 1952 and the last 14 January 1974. Since the agency commenced on 13 September 1951, this date has been assumed as the starting date for the series.

The papers consist of original correspondence received, and copies of outward correspondence; legal documents required under the Companies Act such as annual returns, notifications of changes to the Articles of Association, and taxation returns; and financial statements and balance sheets.
