System of arrangement and control
The scores are arranged by Film Production number, a system that was used throughtout the Bureau and later in Film Australia for many types of records, and gaps in the numbering system for this series most often show where a project already given an FP number did not reach the full production stage, or did not require an original film score.
Relationships with other records
This series is realted to Australian Archives Commonwealth Record Series C4485 Orchestral parts, single number series with FP [Film Production] prefix, which contains the original sheet music used by orchestra members at Film Australia and in many cases covers the same film productions as the music scores series.
