This series consists of plans and drawings, collected by the Historical Section of Australia Post over several years until its closure in 1988. Many of the records were produced by postal headquarters in Melbourne, or by areas within the NSW administration such as the Drafting Section. Others were acquired from the Department of Lands or from other government instrumentalities, and were adapted for post office use.
The series includes blueprints for buildings and additions, as well as town plans showing letter delivery routes and telegraph lines. It also contains drawings of plant and equipment, together with layouts of notices designed for the benefit of staff and customers.
The series is arranged in alphabetical order by subject, with most items being stored in tubes. A small amount of bound material has been boxed.
All items from this series have been added to the Archives' item level database.
