The series consists of the transcripts of hearings for the Aliens Control Tribunals. Those persons who believed they had been unjustly interned were entitled to appeal to the Tribunals which would then examine their case and make a final decision. Whilst there were several Tribunals and Advisory Committees, before which the internees appeared, the transcripts have been arranged into a single alphabetical sequence. For each internee, the objection and year number has been listed, and the relevant Tribunal or Committee has also been denoted insymbolic form.
The meaning of the relevant symbols is as follows:
