This series was converted from SP799/4 and SP960/2. The series consists of 8mm, 16mm and 35mm colour and black and white advertising films of various lengths, which were used during the publicity campaign for the introduction of decimal currency. Films include Dollar Bill, a talk by Prime Minister Harold Holt, new decimal coin designs, and cartoons.
The films and commercials were produced by the advertising agencies George Patterson and Jackson Wain, the Commonwealth Film Unit, the News and Information Bureau, and ABC Television.
Original films are held by the Queensland Office, and duplicate films together with reference video cassettes are held by the New South Wales Office of Australian Archives.
