Description of series:
This series contains 13 volumes, each 11"x8"x3/4" containing printed copies of letters patent granted for inventions under the provisions of "The
Patents, Designs and Trade marks Act 1884", which were compiled between 1889 and 1897 from original documents in the office of the Registrar of Patents, Brisbane. Abridgements of specifications in each case are contained within the volumes and each volume has a table content viz: - (1) Alphabetical Index of Grantees of Letters Patent (2) Alphabetical Index of Inventions for which Letters Patent were granted (3) Chronological Index of Letters Patent (4) Specification in connection with inventions for which letters patent were granted (5) Lithographs of drawings deposited in connection with inventions for which the above named Letters Patent were granted.

A second set of 8 of the 13 Volumes (Vols.1, 2,3,7,8,9,10 and 12)is also in custody.  These duplicate volumes have been located in the Repository. Administrative information
