The series consists of one volume entitled Copyright in Works of Art, Name Index Vol 1. The information is listed alphabetically by Proprietors of Copyright (name), with additional columns for author or proprietor; nature of work; and number in register - numbers 1 - 150. It cross references the items to the (missing) principal register and the exhibits held in A1715.

The registrations in the index are undated and the handwriting is not as legible as in many other registers and indexes. Given the arrangement of the material and the legibility of the entries, the most useful information on the exhibits is therefore in the exhibit series A1715 itself, where the registrations and certificates are more detailed and easier to read.
