This series is a single, large, handwritten volume titled Index of Names and Titles in Register of Copyright in Books, Dramatic Pieces, and Musical Works Vol.1 which indexes alphabetically, the registrations made in the Register series BP5/10 and the registration forms and exhibits held in series A1716. The index is divided into two sections - first by title, showing: type of work (book, song, newspaper, pamphlet etc); the name of the proprietor of copyright; and the item?s registration number. The second section is ordered by proprietor of copyright, giving name; whether publisher or proprietor of copyright; title; and number. Entries in both sections are undated. However, the entries correspond to those in the Register and Exhibit series where more detail can be obtained against the relevant item numbers.

Where an item has not survived to be included in this collection, the Index may be useful to researchers who have the exact title of the work they seek, or the name of the proprietor of copyright, in locating copies in other collections, such as the State Library's.
