Description of series:
This series contains loose sheets, with daily entries, being a monthly return of watches kept and duties performed by lighthouse staff at manned Queensland light stations along the Eastern coast
  
History prior/subsequent to transfer:
"Prior to transfer-" The various forms contained within the accession were originally compiled by the particular lightstation concerned and forwarded monthly and quarterly to Shipping & Transport, Brisbane, as returns.
  
"Subsequent to transfer-" At original time of receipt in 1961 the records were accessioned as BT 493. A recent examination showed that they possess permanent value and they were reaccessioned as BP 283. The records were received in bundles pertaining to a particular lightstation, i.e. in one bundle there would be forms LH 5, 6, 27, 35, 36 and so on. All the records have been rearranged into set order.
