Description of series: Personal papers, including Certificates of Registration, pertaining to Aliens entering the State of Queensland, and who, in some cases, (a) Have become naturalized (b) Are deceased (c) Have left Australia. Also included in the series is notification of change of abode, Queensland Police reports, Application for Registration (for alien resident in Australia), Notification of Marriage, incoming passenger cards and general correspondence. The records were created under the National Security Regulations (alien control) 1939 by the Queensland State Police who were responsible to the Commonwealth for registration of aliens in Queensland. Subsequently with the appointment of an Aliens Control Officer, the records came under the administration of the Department of Immigration in 1945, but were still physically controlled by the Police department until January 1948, when the Aliens Act of 1948 came into force.
