Description of series:
This series consists of 2 bound volumes, 12 3/4" x 8 1/4" x 3 1/4", 12 3/4" x 8 1/4" x 1 3/4" containing printed annual reports of the operations of the Post and Telegraph Department, Queensland and presented by the Post Master General to both Houses of Parliament, Queensland. The 1st annual report, which was presented on 30th April, 1863, includes a sketch of the Service from its commencement in 1842 to the Separation of Queensland from New South Wales in 1859 and from that time to the quarter ending 31st March, 1863. One of the volumes contains reports for the years 1862 to 1894 and the other for the period 1886-1899. In the second volume there is overlapping of years. The reports are arranged in yearly order within the volumes. These are appendices to the reports viz, statistics, statements, returns, lists of services, Post Offices and Postmasters.
