Series note
This volume of consolidated decisions and amendments of the Central Reconstruction Training Committee is divided into nine Parts:
1 Introduction, including the object and purpose of the
Scheme.
2 Organisation for the handling of the Scheme.
3 Pre-discharge training and training through the Repatriation Commission.
4 Operation of the training scheme.
 5 University type training.
 6 Technical type training.
 7 Rural training.
 8 Allowances.
9 Trades and callings suitable for full time vocational training. Each part is further sub-divided into Sections.

Red hard covers are bolted to the volume which is titled 'Master copy - Consolidated decisions of the Central Reconstruction Training Committee'. Inside the front cover the name 'R.B. Wilson' is written. A register of amendment numbers, 1 to 90, is also handwritten inside the cover. Beside some of the numbers, the date of the amendment has been recorded. Further amendments up to number 114 of 10 July 1950 have been added to the list. Though not listed inside the cover of the volume, further amendments up to at least 142 of 12 April 1956, have been added to the text. The text of each amendment has been pasted to the appropriate page throughout the volume.

The original page numbering recommences at the beginning of each Part but page numbers (up to page 291) have also been added in red ink to the Table of Contents and to the corresponding pages within the volume (up to page 300).

References and dates in brackets throughout the text, e.g., (B62 Aug 44), (C337 June 46) may refer to submissions made to the Committee. Australian Archives accession series such as AA1974/662 and MP1144/6 may contain related material.

Australian Archives accession series MP614/8, transferred from the Victorian Regional Office to the Australian Capital Territory Regional Office in 1970, is a similarly titled volume which may contain the same information.

The volume which constitutes this series was discovered by Australian Archives Victorian Regional Office staff when visiting the central office of Department of Employment, Education and Training prior to its move to Canberra.
