Function and purpose

This series contains a handwritten roll titled Return of troops awaiting embarkation for Australasia and New Zealand for the 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen from Newcastle to Stromberg.

The roll gives name, rank and regimental number and is arranged alphabetically. There is no date on the roll to indicate the embarkation date. It is assumed to be circa 1901.

In 1988, this series was copied in full by Australian Archives as part of its reprographic program.

In 2017, the microfilm copy of this series was digitized and uploaded to National Archives of Australia RecordSearch database. The digital image can be viewed by clicking the RecordSearch 'Digital item" icon.
