This series contains printed lists of names, regimental number, rank, address and/or next of kin for the following Queensland Defence Forces who served in the Boer War:

1st Queensland Contingent for service in South Africa (2 copies)
2nd Queensland Contingent for service in South Africa
3rd Queensland Contingent for service in South Africa
4th Queensland Contingent for service in South Africa (1 copy)
5th Queensland (Imperial Bushmen) Contingent (1 copy plus 2 copies of the supplementary list).
6th Queensland (Imperial Bushman) Contingent (3 copies)

The printed lists have no apparent system of arrangement within each contingent. The lists were printed by the government printer in Brisbane probably during the period of the Boer War; however there is no date on the lists to confirm this.

In 1988, this series of records was copied in full by the Australian Archives as part of its reprographic program.

In 2017, the microfilm copy of this series was digitized and uploaded to National Archives of Australia RecordSearch database. The digital image can be viewed by clicking the RecordSearch 'Digital item" icon.
