This series contains a 12 page printed list held together by a paper fastner and titled "Alphabetical roll of Western AustralianContingents in South Africa."

Each page is divided into columns headed; previous service, Snn no., regimental number, rank, name, unit and remarks showing casualties reported up to 23 October 1900 for the Western Australian Contingents.

The list has annotations in red and black ink in the remarks column referring promotions, woundings and medal entitlements. The name J.N. Campbell, Major, Karrakatta Camp is inserted in ink in the top right hand column with the date 26/1/01.The series is arranged alphabetically in the non-commisioned ranks and commissioned ranks are ordered alphabetically within contingent.

This series has been copied in full as part of Australian Archives reprography program.
