The papers in this series were created when Sir John McEwen was Australian Country Party leader, Minister for Trade or Minister for Trade and Industry, Deputy Prime Minister and, at times, Acting Prime Minister and Prime Minister.

The series includes papers relating to the redistribution of State electoral divisions (including background material relating to the Constitution, historical electoral systems and acts and statistics), transcripts of speeches and parliamentary proceedings, Ministerial statements, Cabinet Submissions and Decision and election material (including promotional material).
