This series is an artificial series created to hold photographic prints, negatives and photocopies of photographs sent in by ASIO for the purpose of fulfilling applications for access under s40 of the Archives Act 1983.
 
A single number is imposed on items transferred to Australian Archives to facilitate the possibility of material being sent in by ASIO with different numbering systems. More than one photograph may be included as an item in the case of photocopies of photos if they are of the same subject ( e.g. item [27]).
