BACKGROUND

This series consists of roneoed copies of the Commission's transcripts of proceedings.   The transcripts are contained in 16 lever-arch folders, and involve 10,424 pages.   The Commission's proceedings took place in the following cities : Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Marla Bone, Vallatina, Maralinga, Karratta, and in London.
 
All hearings were public; there were no "in camera" hearings.  
Copies of the transcripts were distributed as follows:

          Research Co-ordinator
 
ARRANGEMENT AND CONTROL

The Arrangement and Description Sub-section of National Archives has imposed a running number system on the volumes to aid retrieval.
