Series note
The series consist of one document, an illuminated manuscript of the address delivered by Prince Albert (later King George VI), on the occasion of the opening of Parliament House Canberra. On the back in the top right-hand corner is an accession number (334 of 1 June 1936) with the stamp of the Commonwealth National Library underneath. This control number does not appear to have any continuing significance, since the document has been removed from this collection for some time and held on its own by the Joint House Department, whose functions were subsequently transferred to the Department of Parliamentary Services (01 February 2004).
