Series note

Bound volumes and supplements known as Ships' Books and Ships' Supplements. These books and supplements have been maintained by Ships' Captains and the Director, Fleet Maintenance, Navy Office. The Books and Supplements are maintained in order to keep a record of the performance, trials, engineering details and aspects of the ships' capacities in time of war and peace. The system of arrangement and control is according to the ship's name e.g. all the records pertaining to the ANZAC are in the Ship's Book ANZAC.
