Function and purposeThis series of general correspondence includes reports, plans and sketches relating to Public Works projects in, or associated with the Federal Capital Territory. Some files relate to employment matters generally and in particular to the provision of work for relief purposes (1930-1931): other papers, which at present cannot be located, deal with civil defence aspects of Territory administration during the Second World War. The series was culled by the Department of Works and Housing early in 1959 prior to transfer to archival custody. System of arrangement and controlThis series is controlled by a single number system with a “C” {Commonwealth Department] prefix. Disposal historyTemporary consignment A292/3 was destroyed on 20 July 2006. Consignment A292/4 was permanently withdrawn by the agency on 13 April 2016. |
