Summary heading
This series consists of prints generated from aerial
photographic films of Australia.
Function and purpose
Photographic prints are
generated from the aerial survey film created by the Division of National
Mapping or its predecessors. The format of the photographic
prints are mostly black and white up to ninety percent the remaining are
colour. The scale varies from approximately 1:10 000
to 1: 150 000. Whilst they are generally uniform in size they may
include mosaic photographs which involves joining
together several aerial photos to form a single non-rectified image that may
then be re-photographed and enlarged.
