This series consists of personal case files raised for British ex-servicemen from the 1939-1945 War, who receive disability pensions awarded by British Service Department-Crown Agent Colonies, and are now resident in Australia. The administration of these pension payments was taken over by the Repatriation Department in 1954 at the request of the British Service Departments. Prior to 1954 pension payments had been handled by the Department of Social Services. Files contain papers on medical and pension benefits, hospital matters, liaison between Branches and Central Office, Tribunals and other countries.
The prefix of the series was altered to comply with a revised ADP prefix schedule dated 25 June 1969. At that date all Repatriation State Offices altered the prefix. However, Central Office Registry did not receive an official instruction and it was not until 22 February 1973 that the change in prefix was carried out.
