This series consists of files documenting pensions and other benefits provided for former British service personnel, who served in the 1914-1918 war, now resident in Australia. The pensions have been transferred from the British Government to the Australian Government by reciprocal arrangement.
The files contain papers on medical and pension benefits, hospital matters, liaison between Branches, Central Office, Tribunals and other countries. The prefix of the series was altered from 'BP' to 'P' in compliance with a revised ADP prefix schedule dated 25 June 1969. At that date all Repatriation state offices altered the prefix. The Central Office registry however did not receive an official instruction and it was not until 22 February 1973 that the change in prefix was carried out. The single number sequence was not affected by this change in prefix.
