In this series, A2680, there is a numbered file for each Advisory War Council agendum and the files used to be stored in varying-size bundles tied with a strap.

Each file contains background papers leading up to agendum paper, a copy of the agendum, extract copy of relevant minute (that is, the statement of decisions reached, not a record of discussion), minor correspondence and notes regarding distribution of copies of minutes.

All the items in this series have been digitised and are available online.

A related series, A2679, Advisory War Council Agenda, includes a numbered folder for each agendum and contains agendum papers plus relevant War Cabinet Agendum papers. Since series A2679 does not include all the related correspondence etc found in the files in A2680, very few in A2679 have been digitised.
