Two blue pen sketches drawn by Paul Hasluck (later Sir Paul) on a sheet of notepaper during a Cabinet meeting about 1959. He was Minister for Territories at the time. On one side of the page is a sketch of the then Treasurer, Harold Edward Holt, titled 'Picture of a Treasurer - promising a million' and signed 'Paul H'. On the reverse side is a smaller sketch of William McMahon, then Minister for Labour and National Service.
The item was transferred to archival custody in July 1972, to be 'kept with the Holt papers' at Sir Paul's request. The sketches have been digitised.
