This series consists of Registered forms (M & S 22) listing all incoming passengers arriving at various airports in Australia. The form shows the date of arrival, type and name of aircraft, Registration letters (of aircraft), master, number of crew including master. The form then shows name and description of passengers showing number, place of disembarkation in Australia, port at which passengers had contracted to land, name, profession or occupation, sex, age, marital status, country of intended future permanent residence. A declaration certifying that the information is a correct return of passengers arriving at the relevant airport is signed by the master of the aircraft.
The forms, which recorded the information to be used for statistical purposes, have various codings in red pencil. At the beginning of 1935 "P2" forms (for ships) were used for Brisbane before the correct forms had arrived for aircraft.
The series has been converted to CRS A1230 from Australian Archives series CT72 and CT73, which had previously been converted from CP163.
As at September 1987, approximately 60% of this series is in the custody of Archives. To determine which months of this series are held in Archives, researchers will need to check the item inventory.
