Function and purpose

This series consists of files created by the Secretary to the Treasury. The first part of the series consists of agreements between different people, organisations and governments. This part was originally separate from the second part. The second part of the series consists of correspondence files on a wide range of Treasury related matters.

System of arrangement and control

A single number sequence is used in this series. It appears these numbers are not original and were presumably put on the items by Treasury prior to transfer to archival custody.

Finding aids

All items in the custody of the National Archives of Australia as at December 2000 have been entered onto the item level database.

Series history

Transferred to archival custody by CA 11, Department of the Treasury [I], as unserialised accessions AA1968/390 and AA1968/391. Converted and serialised in December 2000 as part of the Collection Review project.
