Series history
Prior to transfer: This set constitutes a separate series of cases arising from the National Security Regulations, during the 2nd World War (1939-1945). The registration of this set was incorporated into the Main General Correspondence system in 1939. On the revision of the Main General Correspondence index in 1956/57 only 'C' series registrations were brought forward. You are therefore referred to A368 for the Index entries pertaining to this set.
This series contains many top numbered files from CRS A367 and undetermined Security Service (CA 660 and associated branches) series (possibly including CRS A373). After the demise of the Investigation Branch (CA 747) in August 1946, the successor agency, the Commonwealth Investigation Service (CA 650) continued to add documents to files in this series, in response mainly to naturalisation inquiries, until about 1951.
Transferred to archival custody by CA 747, Investigation Branch, as CP573/2 on 03 June 1958, see RWC7/4/6 from series A807. Series converted to A11797.
