Series history
The series records details of SMHEA workers from the beginning of construction and has been in the custody of the agency until transfer to the National Archives, which is expected to take place in September 1999.

The earliest record in this series is the file for the first employee of SMHEA, and this happens to be the first Commissioner, Sir William Hudson, who was allocated Service No 1.
