FUNCTION AND CONTENT

This series consists of bound letterbooks of inwards correspondence received by the Principal Registry in Melbourne.

Each piece of correspondence received by the Registry was noted in the letterbooks.  Correspondence was given a consecutive number and details such as: when received, from whom, date of letter, subject and how disposed of were noted.
