This series consists of notebooks used by Chief Justice Sir Owen Dixon during cases heard in Brisbane, Perth, Sydney and Melbourne.

The notebooks contain annotations made by the Justice in relation to a particular case, some are quite detailed while others are somewhat sketchy.  In each case, reference is made to the plaintiff and defendant as well as legal representatives.  It appears that these notes formed the basis of the Justice's final order in the case and  may provide some background to the verdict given in a particular case.

There are no references made to the case number so it may be necessary to peruse either the Victorian Full Court Book (A10220), the New South Wales Full Court Book (A10232), the Queensland Full Court Book (A10041) and the Western Australian Full Court Book (A10080) around the date/s of the notebook entry to verify the case number before searching for the records of the case.
