There is some uncertainty as to whether all these components are related and one file. Certainly some of the files cover similar topics, such as Western Australian coastal defences but I don't see how this relates to internal security and the activities of the New Guard. The packing list done at the time of transfer suggests the files are linked as one item but the L14s do not support this. I suspect each component is in fact a separate file.

Taking into consideration the findings of OJCM in 2001 and the necessity for better control and accessibility the components in this item have been split into PARTs.
Note that PART 5 although listed on National Archives RecordSearch database has been 'missing as from 2 December 1996'.
